For 21 years I have been capturing weddings throughout Leicestershire, Warwickshire, London and beyond. I am based on the border close to Warwickshire in Hinckley. Please feel free to contact Simon Church Wedding PhotographyEvery wedding venue has its own rules when it comes to photography. Church weddings are where I find there can be some very strict rules. The worst case scenario is no photograph at all during the service. I am pleased to say this is very very rare. One up from this is photography but only from the back. This is no issue for me as I can still capture key moments of the service by using different lenses.
These imagefrom a wedding in May 2015 was taken from the back of the church. I always introduce myself to whoever is taking the service before guests arrive. Its a great ice breaker and from that chat I can judge how far I might be able to push it if need be! I very rarely use flash during the service.
The best case scenario which is becoming more popular is to be able to capture what I wish and move around freely. Being conscious of my surroundings and guests is my number one objective. The less I am noticed the better and the more emotion in the images.
All other venues I find are much more relaxed and more often then not the only rule I come across is not to photograph the actual signing of the register.

When a wedding location has such amazing grounds, I will make sure I make the most of them. These photographs of the bride and groom were taken after all the group shots had been taken. I spend around 15 minutes before the wedding breakfast with the couple having a walk about. I often use off camera flash to help the bride and groom stand out. Cotswold House Hotel has great grounds not only has great gardens but the front is splendid too.
